The owner of FAS
Owner Wolfgang Schaefer has been working in the field of automotive surface coating for more than 20 years. From manual application in prototype construction to the fully automated series painting of components of various geometries, he himself has gone through all the necessary work stations that are the key to success in modern paint shops.
As managing partner of artworX OHG, Mr. Schaefer has successfully manufactured components for the automotive and electrical industry as an extended workbench, as well as for friendly partner companies, developed solutions in Germany and Romania.
In the further course of his career as production manager for the German subsidiary of Tata Motors, Mr. Schaefer has, among other things, projected a fully automated plastic painting plant and brought it into series production. Components for the Volkswagen and GM groups were then manufactured here. The curiosity to delve deeper into the chemistry of paint led Mr. Schaefer to a paint manufacturer in northern Germany. Having started there as an application engineer for automotive, Mr. Schaefer was later responsible for worldwide support for UV coatings in automotive interiors.
As head of the application technology department and with a lot of experience in the international market, Mr. Schaefer decided to share his experiences directly with you today.
